Uplifted Medical offers advanced Fotona laser treatments in Smiths Falls using the Fotona SP Dynamis, a dual-wavelength laser platform that allows us to address multiple layers of the skin and a wide range of aesthetic concerns.
From comprehensive facial rejuvenation and skin tightening to resurfacing, redness, pigmentation and targeted treatments for the eyes, lips and neck, Fotona allows us to customize treatment based on your skin, concerns and goals.

The Fotona SP Dynamis is a dual-wavelength laser system that combines Er:yag and Nd:yag laser technologies. Each wavelength interacts with the skin differently, allowing us to target different depths and concerns within a customized treatment plan.
The Er:yag wavelength is highly absorbed by water within the skin, allowing for precise treatment of the skin’s surface. Depending on the settings used, treatments can range from gentle, non-ablative procedures to more intensive laser resurfacing.
Er treatments can be used to improve concerns such as fine lines, uneven texture, enlarged pores, sun damage, pigmentation and acne scarring, while also stimulating skin renewal and collagen remodelling.
The Nd:yag wavelength penetrates more deeply into the tissue and can be used to create controlled heating beneath the skin’s surface. This can stimulate collagen remodelling and support improvements in skin firmness and overall skin quality.
Nd can also target hemoglobin within blood vessels, making it useful for certain vascular concerns, facial redness and visible vessels.
Because Fotona offers both Er:yag and Nd:yag technology within one platform, treatments can be customized to address different layers and concerns within the skin. The wavelengths may be used individually or combined as part of a multi-step treatment such as Fotona4D® facial rejuvenation.
Treatment settings are selected based on your skin type, treatment area, individual concerns and desired outcome, rather than using the same laser protocol for every patient.

With its combination of Er and Nd wavelengths, the Fotona SP Dynamis can be used to address a wide range of skin concerns at different depths. Treatments are customized based on your skin, treatment goals and the concern being addressed.
Fotona laser treatments may be used to improve:
Because different skin concerns respond to different wavelengths, treatment depths and laser settings, not every patient requires the same Fotona treatment. Your skin will be assessed to determine which treatment—or combination of treatments—is most appropriate for your individual concerns and goals.

Fotona4D® is a comprehensive, non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatment that combines four complementary laser modes to address multiple layers of the face and skin. One of its distinctive features is the ability to treat both inside the mouth and externally, allowing for a multi-dimensional approach to facial rejuvenation.
The four stages of Fotona4D® include:
SmoothLiftin™ — A gentle intraoral laser treatment performed inside the mouth to stimulate collagen remodelling in the deeper tissues, particularly around the cheeks, nasolabial folds and mouth.
FRAC3® — Uses fractional Nd energy to target deeper areas of the skin and support improvements in skin texture, tone and overall quality.
PIANO® — Delivers controlled, deep heating across the treatment area to stimulate collagen remodelling and support improvements in skin firmness.
SupErficial™ — A light Er resurfacing treatment that addresses the skin's surface, helping improve texture, fine lines and overall radiance.
Together, these four stages are designed to address skin quality, texture, fine lines and firmness while stimulating gradual collagen remodelling. Fotona4D® is an excellent option for patients seeking comprehensive facial rejuvenation without injectable treatment or surgery.
Because results develop through the skin's natural remodelling process, improvements occur gradually and are intended to look subtle and natural.
Fotona Er laser resurfacing uses precisely controlled laser energy to remove or remodel targeted layers of the skin, stimulating renewal and improving overall skin quality.
Treatment intensity can be customized from lighter resurfacing with relatively minimal recovery to deeper treatments with more significant skin renewal and downtime. Depending on your treatment goals, Er resurfacing may be used to improve fine lines, sun damage, uneven pigmentation, rough texture, enlarged pores and certain types of acne scarring.
The appropriate treatment depth is selected based on your skin, concerns, desired results and the amount of downtime you are comfortable with.
SmoothEye® is a non-ablative Fotona laser treatment designed specifically for the delicate skin around the eyes. Controlled laser energy gently heats the tissue to stimulate collagen remodelling and improve skin quality over time.
Treatment can help address fine lines, crepey texture and mild skin laxity around the eyes without surgery or injections.
SmoothEye® typically involves minimal downtime, although temporary redness, warmth or mild swelling may occur following treatment.
LipLase® is a non-invasive laser treatment designed to stimulate collagen remodelling in and around the lips. Treatment is performed both inside the mouth and externally around the lip area.
Rather than adding volume with an injectable product, LipLase® focuses on improving lip texture, definition and the quality of the surrounding skin, while creating a subtle rejuvenating effect.
LipLase® can be a good option for patients who want to rejuvenate the lip area without dermal filler, or it may be incorporated into a broader treatment plan alongside other aesthetic treatments.
Fotona TightSculpting® is a non-invasive laser treatment that combines two Fotona wavelengths in a multi-step body treatment designed to address body contouring and skin tightening.
The Nd portion of the treatment delivers controlled deep heating to the treatment area, while the Er component targets more superficial tissue to support collagen remodelling and improvements in skin firmness and texture.
TightSculpting® may be considered for patients looking to improve localized areas of body contour and skin laxity without surgery. Results and the number of treatments required vary depending on the treatment area, tissue characteristics and individual goals.
Fotona laser treatments can be used to address skin laxity, fine lines, uneven texture and overall skin quality on the neck.
Controlled laser energy stimulates collagen remodelling within the skin, with treatment parameters customized according to the degree of laxity, skin quality and individual treatment goals.
Because changes in the neck can involve several factors—including skin quality, collagen loss and underlying anatomy—we assess each patient individually to determine whether Fotona laser treatment or another treatment approach is most appropriate.
Fotona's Nd wavelength can be used to target certain vascular concerns by delivering laser energy that is selectively absorbed by hemoglobin within visible blood vessels.
Depending on the condition being treated, Fotona may be used for concerns such as facial redness, visible capillaries, spider veins and other vascular lesions.
Not all redness has the same underlying cause, so an assessment is important before treatment. Laser settings and treatment plans are customized based on the type, size, depth and location of the vessels being treated, as well as your individual skin characteristics.
Fotona Hair Restart is a non-invasive laser treatment designed to support the scalp environment and stimulate areas affected by certain types of hair thinning.
The treatment uses Fotona's Er laser in a specialized non-ablative mode to gently heat the scalp and stimulate biological processes associated with hair growth, without removing the surface of the skin.
Hair Restart may be incorporated into an individualized hair-restoration plan for appropriately selected patients. Because hair loss can have many different causes—including hormonal, nutritional, genetic and medical factors—assessment of the underlying cause is an important part of determining whether laser treatment is appropriate.
Depending on the individual, Hair Restart may also be combined with other approaches to hair restoration, such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP).
At Uplifted Medical, we don't believe every skin concern should be treated with the same device or protocol. Fotona offers a wide range of treatment options, but the right approach begins with understanding your skin, anatomy, treatment history, concerns and goals.
Individualized Treatment Planning
Fotona's dual-wavelength technology allows us to customize treatment depth, intensity and laser mode depending on what we are trying to achieve. A treatment plan for pigmentation or redness may look very different from one designed for skin resurfacing, collagen remodelling or facial rejuvenation.
We also consider your desired downtime, previous treatments and overall skin health when developing your treatment plan.
Preparing the Skin
Healthy, well-hydrated skin provides an important foundation for energy-based treatments. Before beginning a Fotona treatment series, we may recommend an in-clinic Bela MD facial to cleanse, exfoliate and hydrate the skin, along with an individualized at-home skincare routine when appropriate.
Choosing the Right Treatment for Your Skin
Sometimes Fotona is the best option—and sometimes another treatment may better address your concerns. Depending on your assessment, we may recommend Sylfirm X RF microneedling, DP4 microneedling, injectable treatments, medical-grade skincare or a combination of approaches instead of, or alongside, Fotona.
Our goal is not simply to perform a laser treatment. It is to create a thoughtful treatment plan that addresses the different factors contributing to your concerns while maintaining natural-looking results.
